Adobe is the latest company to enter the world of artificial intelligence. With the new Firefly update released for Photoshop, Adobe brings artificial intelligence (AI) into the world of photo editing. The innovative tool called Generative Fill allows users to modify images with the support of artificial intelligence.
How to use AI-powered Photoshop?
Adobe’s new feature combines the application’s photo editing tools with artificial intelligence. Through the Generative Fill feature, users can add new elements to a photo, expand image boundaries, and create realistic reflections with the help of AI.
The most significant part of the update introduced under Adobe Firefly is the Generative Fill tool. Users can select a specific area of an image and provide a description for that region to generate new content. The AI analyzes the user’s request and suggests potential completions.
Another notable aspect of Generative Fill is its ability to add new objects to images. For example, Adobe managed to place similar flowers next to a flower captured in portrait mode. In another example, the tool added a water puddle, fence, and truck to a road where a dog was running. The reflection of the water puddle is particularly noteworthy.
Adobe Firefly also includes significant improvements for removing unwanted objects. Photoshop’s Remove tool utilizes AI to cut objects while preserving realism in complex backgrounds.
Additionally, Adobe Firefly offers AI-powered smart suggestions to facilitate the editing process. Users can make more precise adjustments to their image edits if desired. Adobe stated that they solely used stock photos for AI training and did not infringe any copyright laws.
